Zweitägige Anreise geschafft/Two-day arrival managed

Well, what a day. After ~ 100 km find Margret to muck. In NL I randomly found a Renault breakdown helpers, but he had no idea. A strange Crackle from 90 km/h, and also a Judder.

But I had to reach the ferry and so it went with 85 km/h. Managed three minutes before the end of the gate.

Margret felt at home in England. She ran well over 100 km/h without any problems, but that Crackle was still there. Still having trouble turning up were added. He vigorously turned up engine until he took away the gas in the domes.

But I have reached the hotel shortly before 10: 00 p.m.

Tag drei geschafft / Day three has done

Today, I will be brief, because I am very tired. The best: I opened the B & B this morning and closed this evening.

The driving was very nice, partly very warm. Cork and Kinsale were disappointing. The inner city of Cork is the purest construction site and Kinsale was totally overrun. Too bad I could not collect. money. It was good at the Jameson Experience Center in Midleton. I was allowed

to drive directly in front of the entrance and take pictures. Already the first curious came and one came into conversation.

The ride took me further, no lodging in sight. Only two hotels, but they also looked more expensive. So I ended up in Rosscabery, eaten well, and I got my frist fresh Smithwicks.

Mizen Head

This day led me going to Mizen Head. When I arrived I asked if I could make a photo with Margret in front of the entrance area. I was very happy to do this and even got free entrance. In the afternoon the weather got worse and I went on the search for an accommodation with a closed roof. I was so tired I went to bed very early.

Tag vier - naß und traurig / Day four - wet and sad

Sehr schade. Hoffentlich wird es morgen in Killarney besser.

Today is forgotten - cloudy and wet weather and hardly anyone on the road. The road led across the Ring of Beara. Actually wonderful, but now disgusting and exhausting. I decided to go to Kenmare and go there for today. A B & B I found quickly and rest. Because here too it rains only and donations thinks no one here. Those who are on the road are happy when they return to dryness. Only one family from Emden was willing to donate something. Also the shops were not already for one day my donation box. Very unfortunate. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow in Killarney.

Killarney

After Margret issues have been longer and the day started rainy, I decided to skip the ring of Kerry (unfortunately) and to go directly to Killarney.

On the accommodation (http://www.applecrofthouse.com/) I was received as if I would make money, while the night is giving me. Soon was on the phone with some garages and a regional newspaper. After the photographer had done his work, we drove to a small workshop. Helpful as the Irish are he did not take my money.

Afterwards, I wants to Garda station and meet with Carina by "Specialist in Ireland". My mood has improved considerably. But at the Garda Station I can't get a permission and the meeting with "The Ireland Specialist would not happen.

It's so beautiful

This morning it still worked and I was able to get to know Carina Grießner Beasley of "Specialist in Ireland". The owner of Sabine Rai hammer was unfortunately on the way.

A whole again thank you for your continuous support and also for the donations from you and your husbands.

After this we drove from Killarney back to the Wild Atlantic Way to Dingle. Since it was absolutely impossible to find a parking lot, I drove over the Connor Pass, across Tralee and Blennerville. Now there was absolutely no place to stay and I asked a young man about a pub if there was no B & B. He immediately took his dad, who was already in Germany, and he was just about to explain the way he saw Margret. From there it went round: The local newspaper was informed, I have an interview again and he found a place for me. At the same time, Carina Griessner-Beasley had found something and the nice Guy knew this well. So I've landed for Ballyheigue tonight.

Today was a day of total quiet and very rural. He has started with a thunderstorm, but after noon it was getting better.

On the ferry from Tarbert to Killimer, I met a couple from Baden-Württemberg, the ride continued until Carrigaholt fantastically abandoned sections. Simone and I wanted to ride here ever on Dolphin sighting on the sea, today it would have worked out. I'm landed today in Doonbeg, a sleepy little village.

Cliffs of Moher and Galway

So fuhr ich also weiter.

Today the weather was not good for make-a-wish, but the drives was excellent. The day started very storms and rainy.

I tried my luck at the cliffs of Moher. But I gather not allowed there. It was promised, to collect all donations in October for make a wish.

So I continued thus. I ended up at some point in Galway - here was a traffic mess. When I finally came out of Galway out I saw a large shopping centre, it would have been ideal. But it was now after four and I had still no accommodation. So I continued, even though I first Atlantic way not again found the wild. Sometime I just drove forward from the national road to the left, the Sun. Back on the WAW, I finally found accommodation in Rossaveel, from where the ferry to the Aran island. If the weather cooperates tomorrow that would be safe a trip worth.

Traurige Nachrichten heute:

Connemara

After I really had overslept and had to take my breakfast in a construction site, I had unfortunately missed the ferry island after Aaron. The Sun was shining and the fantastic landscape let me drive leisurely and I would have kept most every 100 meters and took pictures. On a vantage point addressed with only a few from South Africa, made a beautiful photograph by Margret and me. Then came still an Irishman and gushed, while he showed on your car and cursing about this electronic pile.

I have landed in Clifdon. I'm probably staying for two nights.

Clifdon and Kylemore Abbey

Adon from the B & B gave me the tip for a wonderful route, unfortunately it rained and it was very hazy, so that no long-distance pictures were worthwhile.

I stopped at Kylemore Abbey, but it was raining. I would have to register beforehand with Margret. But I got at least free admission.

The recommended route was very nice, but it was raining. So I went back to Clifdon, refilled my car and sorted my clothes. Already comical, the dirt laundry needs more and more space.

Then I asked in some pubs for permission to collect money there in the evening. But all refused.

Meanwhile, the trip is a farce and I would love to go back to Germany.

Westport/Co. Mayo

Today the road led me further of Clifdon from the North. Unfortunately the weather didn't play with once again, so that there are now a few photos. The tour was so beautiful, just not very photogenic. For the night, I stay in the beautiful Westport, where I have made even a walk through the town.

Irritated I have the tourist office with my question, the WAW from here yet is how long. Between 600 and 900 kilometres.

Westport to Aughris Head / Co. Mayo

Today, I could open the hood back in the morning and enjoyed the brilliant lines through valleys, lakes and Torffelderb past, and of course to the Atlantic Ocean. There were unfortunately not so many stops opportunities such as photo opportunities.

The route took me from Westport Aughris head, a great Bay. At a gas station, I met a couple from the Rhein-Lahn-Kreis, which was with a Mercedes Coupe from the 1980s.

In between I had still a short telephone interview with the NWZ Wildeshausen editorial. Tomorrow will be an "interim report".

I enjoyed my dinner in best sunshine and just enjoy the sunset.

Hurry up to Dungloe

The good: The weather today was fantastic.

The Bad: If I had not been so stingy I could have already three hours more near Killibeg a place to stay. So I'm from place to place, have b & b's and hotels flipped and missed some sights.

Slieven League and Downings Bay

Yesterday was the most beautiful summer weather, this day started very cloudy. I got a donation to make-a-wish of the guest Mr.

I decided to go back again to the Slieve League. Not a good idea. It began to rain, the visibility was bad. After all, I saw even a lady from Vechta.

At 1:00 p.m. I was back where I was set off in the morning and continue my tour North. Still I was driven open, but that soon changed. Later it was then dry and even the Sun was sometimes seen. Today, I was smart, began on time with the search and am struck it rich at the Downings Bay.

Auf und Ab/Up and Down in Inishowen

In the morning it was still light on the rain, but after breakfast the sun came out. So roof up and go. I followed the advice of my hostess and drove the Atlantic Drive, a fantastic stretch.

Then I went to the north, I graced Letterkenny on the outskirts of the city and went north. As soon as I had climbed again a daring pass road it began to rain. By chance I found a beautiful B & B, right on the Glengoe waterfall. Hopefully the sun will shine again tomorrow.

Day 2 in Inishowen

Day two in Inishowen - the weather looked not good. So I postponed my visit to Malin Head and went to the Fort Dumree in Buncrana. Once there I had to actually realize that we were here already in the autumn.

But the Sun came out, so I decided to go to the Glenevin waterfall.

Light drizzle began after I had made some photos there. I drove to the village of Doagh famine and made only a small walk. But all of a sudden storm and torrential downpour came. Totally soaked I wanted in the Café, but all seats were taken. Also the actual village was completely overrun. So I drove back, bought yet a brush into the supermarket to get my shoes clean again and am comfortable there for the rest of the day in my luxurious room.

Es ist geschafft! Well done Margret!

It's done!

Suddenly it was very quick. In the morning we were finally at the Malin Head, visited Beach the five finger and enjoyed our lunch on a beautiful Hill. On the Inishowen Head it was too crowded, so we continue. I saw "Susie's bar" from last year, and a little later we were in muffin. Actually a small village, but with at least four stations - all with € and £.

No wonder! 100 meters ended not only the wild Atlantic way, but also the Republic of Ireland. So, that was it!

A strange feeling. The last days it worked and now suddenly... From and over! Relief came on but also big disappointment that collect the donations had imagined I.

A break in Letterkenny

Ausflug nach Nordirland/Trip to Northern Ireland

The farewell from this beautiful hotel is really hard for me. The manager said, that there are about € 30-40 of the staff in the Donation Box is plus guests.

The trip to the Giant Causeway I could have saved me. The park supervision was very friendly, meant I should ask for the manager inside. However, I had hardly parked, he came running and said he had spoken to the manager and I had to address my request to the central management in England. Via a service number I received then the information that the thing of the establishment was. So I was there for the last time.

So I went to the orders and made my purchase at the Old Bushmills distillery. Then I headed south, just out of Northern Ireland. All too much for U.K., strikingly many Union Jag flags on houses and lanterns. I think that will not be a reunion.

Now I am landed in the rain in Monaghan

Respite for Margret / sightseeing around Dublin

In the morning was rested only once beautiful, then I could pay scrambled eggs, toast and a cup of coffee € 6.50 for something. Then I went by bus to the city.

Wonderful, so many people of different nationalities in the city. I ran up and down, of course was my favorite store "Carrolls Irish gift" and enjoyed the street musicians.

Actually I wanted to the national leprechaun Museum, but there are only guides in the dark, so no more for me. Next I went to the Temple bar. Madness, what was here for an atmosphere in the pubs. I was allowed to live even arrested by the Garda, then it went back slowly for me.

I had plugged the money for the bus advance extra as here yes fit has to be paid. Weird – and I paid € 2,-, now it should be € 2.70. Since I got a cab I bought even a little something and then paid € 3. I was now anyway.

Whether I'm driving today evening again go I don't know yet.

Since our hotel room was not ready yet we visited the Titanic museum. We recommend. Tomorrow we will explore the city.
